Description
ACEO Commission by that I finally got to. The commission guidelines was: "an eastern coyote in a big city." Took me a while to come up with an idea for this since I like to stick to more natural occurrences and all I could think of was a scared coyote in a big city but I didn't want to go that route. Then I watched Oliver and Company and wanted to do a 'yote on top of a taxi, tongue flapping in the wind but didn't like any of the doodles and I couldn't quite get the feeling right. Then I started looking for dark street pictures, found one and took inspiration from it (how ever horribly) and came out with a coyote lurking in the shadows of a lit street coming out of the shadows into the circle of light a street lamp makes.
I like how it came out for the most part, except for the light that is coming out of the lights, it's too obvious but I couldn't lift any of the paint without destroying the paper so I gave up and left it. I also apparently can't do gradient watercoloring worth crap, in reference to the coyote's markings. *sigh*
Hope you like it Motten! Gave me good practice with ACEO size constrictions and angles.
Art (c) :copper-wolff:
Materials: Precut smooth Bristol paper (2.5x3.5 inches), watercolors, Polychromos colored pencils.
The dimensions of the image here are a tiny bit different because I had to tape the edge to flatten the card because it warped so I cropped out the tape.
As always, critiques and constructive comments always welcome as I'm always looking to improve.
